Recreation
Whether you need to have fun, relax, get away, get together, or get exercise, Gilmer County is a great place for family fun. In addition to the more hearty, adventurous opportunities for recreation, we also offer laid-back locations, like a nine-hole golf course, shaded getaways, and sunny lakes. In addition, cultural and athletic events at Glenville State College are always open to the public.
Swimming, golfing, fishing, boating – a shaded picnic, reunion, or game of miniature golf, tennis or softball – Gilmer is a treasure of outdoor fun! With two outdoor swimming pools and camp sites all over the county, Gilmer is an affordable getaway.
Swim & Splash
Gilmer County abounds with water, flowing, still and perfect for swimming! Enjoy two outdoor pools, paddleboats and canoes, or bring your own boat to our stream access sites.
